Hi everyone,
I hope you are heading into a restful and festive holiday weekend. Aria and I are hosting her five kids and another adult step-sibling, along with three dogs, two ferrets and a cat. We’re also continuing to develop the plant medicine retreats that we are offering starting next month. More on that in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I wanted to share this message for those who may be recently laid off or out of work. There is a special kind of affliction that professional uncertainty brings. But it’s possible to alchemize that uncertainty for powerful life transformation.
I hope you will forward this to anyone you know in this condition.
take care,
Paul
If you’ve been laid off, you’re in a very unique "hell realm."
The future of your career is uncertain. You don’t know when and where opportunities will present themselves. You may have some financial cushion, but it's dwindling with each passing day.
The statistics right now are intimidating: hundreds of thousands of layoffs. Hundreds of applicants vying for each available position (particularly in Tech and Pharma.)
There's plenty of advice on refining your resume, improving your interview skills, and expanding your network. All of it valuable.
But the macro-economics of your industry are beyond your control.
Enter Zen. It's possible to navigate this situation with calmness, control, and purpose.
You don't need to endure the stress and anxiety that comes with unemployment. You don't need to waste hours networking with incompatible groups or applying for jobs you don't really want.
Instead, you can leverage this situation. You can tap into your inner creativity and purpose (your "why") that's always been there. When you operate from this place, there are no setbacks, only growth.
I've created an e-book called "The Bardo of Work" to assist those in between jobs. Check it out on my site.
I also work one-on-one with individuals like you daily. Collaborate with me and you can make this period one of the most rewarding and transformative of your life. (I invite you to sign up for a free Discovery session with me now.)
Another term for "the unknown future" is "potential."
I’ve been working with many people in between jobs this year. One found a perfect job after a month. Another was coming to the the end of a year’s severance, and was starting to feel antsy. Four months later he was turning down offers and creating his own path. Another started two new businesses within two months of starting with me. Another stopped the frantic job-searching and began to enjoy her life.
You have the power to create your future from all the ingredients of your life.
